Access to great training venues enables our students to accelerate their learning experience and consolidate the skills developed during the programme.

Mark Warner and Neilson operate high quality watersports resorts, custom built for a great time on the water. UKSA students can now take full advantage of some of the top overseas watersports venues operated by both companies, with instruction from UKSA’s experienced watersports instructor trainers. It’s a partnership that ensures you world class weather and training locations combined with world class UKSA instruction and mentoring, whatever time of year you choose to train.

Egypt

Dahab

Just north of Sharm el Sheikh, the Bedouin oasis of Dahab is situated in the midst of the spectacular Sinai Mountains, the desert and the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea. Literally translated “Dahab” is Arabic for “gold.” Once you have sailed here you will realise why wind/board sports fanatics prize the area so highly.

Accommodation

While staying in Dahab, students will be based in the Gannet Sinai Hotel. Twin rooms all include:

Afloat

Fantastic conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing all situated in a sheltered bay boasting a wide expanse of sandy beach. Dahab’s natural lagoon provides great windsurfing conditions for surfers of all abilities. The flat water protected by a sandbar and constant cross-shore and off-shore breezes make it easy for beginners to get started in the bay, while more advanced surfers will enjoy high speed sailing across the water further out.

Abu Soma

Situated on the outstanding shores of the Red Sea, just 35kms south of Hurghada airport is the Abu Soma Resort, run by Mark Warner and home to UKSA. With 1km of golden sandy beach, turquoise water and stunning desert scenery and great wind stats all year round, you couldn’t really ask for more.

Weather conditions in Abu Soma are particularly good for windsurfing and kitesurfing with consistent cross-shore breezes.

Accommodation in the resort is in twin rooms with air conditioning and en-suite facilities. Half board food is provided at resort, with a choice of eating venues all within a short distance of your accommodation.

Greece

Vassiliki

Bordering the shores of an impressive bay to the south of Lefkas island, Vassiliki is one of Europe’s most famous windsurfing destinations and a well known Mecca for windsurfers who want to sail at high speed on flat water.

UKSA training in ‘Vass’ is based within the Neilson centre, about a mile from Vassiliki village at the windward end of the bay, giving the longest sailing hours, clean winds and flat water, whilst the beach’s gently shelving sandy bottom provides the best launching conditions.

Accommodation in the resort is in twin rooms with air conditioning and en-suite facilities. Bed and Breakfast is provided at the resort, with a choice of eating venues all within a short distance of your accommodation.

Paleros

A Mark Warner resort, Paleros is the ideal Waterskiing / wakeboarding venue, with the opportunity to go dinghy sailing in your spare time. Paleros Village is a destination that manages to blend the best of two worlds - action packed and blissfully laidback. It’s setting is pure picture postcard with a beachfront lapped by the blue waters of a vast bay.

Cowes

Our 3.5 acre campus in Cowes is the largest purpose built residential sailing academy in Northern Europe with all the facilities you would expect at a world class venue. Our Island location provides ideal venues for dinghy sailing, kitesurfing, kayaking and windsurfing all within a short sail or drive from our Cowes base. With all your food and accommodation for the duration of any stay at Cowes covered in your course fees, the Academy’s base will provide everything you need to focus on your studies and practical learning.
