Unique to UKSA, combine the acquisition of industry-recognised practical qualifications with a university accredited degree.
Course overview
The Foundation Degree in Yacht Science is delivered in conjunction with Falmouth Marine College and University of Plymouth. A limited number of places are available as an additional element for students embarking on the UKSA Yachting Cadetship programmes.

Suitable for students embarking on the UKSA Yachting Cadetship. To study for the Foundation Degree, students will require the usual criteria for entry to Foundation Degrees, including education to A Level standard or equivalent work place learning. (120 UCAS points of which at least 80 points need to be at level 3.) Students should be 18 years or over.
To apply for the training, you will need to attend a 2 day Selection Event where you will be required to demonstrate a proven interest in a career in the superyacht industry, and pass a UKSA Cadetship interview.
Delivered over 3 years in conjunction with UKSA Yachting Cadetship. Cadetship training can start in May or October each year. We can provide you with dates for the full 3 year programme on application.

What is a Foundation Degree?
Foundation Degrees are innovative University accredited degrees that were introduced to the Higher Education sector in 2001. Further study
Honours Degree
Students have the option to enhance their qualification to an Honours Degree. Following successful completion of the Foundation Degree, students will be given the opportunity (at an additional cost) to attend the University of Plymouth for one year of academic study.
On successful completion they will be awarded a full Honours Degree [BSc (Hons) Marine Studies (Ocean Yachting)]
