The magic of UKSA is the ethos that underpins our whole organisation. As a charitable organisation, our mission is the improvement of lives through watersports activities. It’s a great mission to follow and is what makes UKSA so unique. We love what we do, have a passion for sharing it and want to inspire as many people as we possibly can through our work, so come and join us.




Watersports training

Throughout the year, UKSA organises a whole variety of watersports programmes for young people and adults booking directly with us.

Experience

All our RYA, BCU and BKSA watersports courses are run by instructors who are experts in their field and are focussed on providing challenging, yet safe environments in which to maximise your learning, fun and success.

Our island location offers a wide range of wind and wave conditions to suit all levels of skill and experience in every discipline, whatever the weather.

The range and quality of our watersports kit provides all you could wish for – whether you’re a beginner or aspiring professional we have the ideal equipment to maximise your learning and enjoyment.

Safety

Safety is of paramount importance to us and the Academy has an exemplary record in this respect. With on the water instructor/student ratios of no more than 6:1, everyone gets individual attention and help is always on hand when necessary.

All ages from 8 upwards welcome

We offer courses for all age groups, from 8 years to adult. Children’s residential courses for those aged 8-16 benefit from our comprehensive evening supervision and entertainment programme's. A high level of care and supervision is provided on all our programme's for young people. On the water activities and a full evening entertainment programme ensure that young people are occupied and entertained from early morning until bedtime – with little time for homesickness. A duty instructor in residence every night ensures our guests have access to help or assistance 24 hours a day.

The Academy’s watersports courses are designed to take your training quickly beyond the essentials of the RYA syllabus.

  • Most UKSA Leisure watersports programmes are longer than the RYA prescribed minimum giving you more time to grow and develop essential skills under instruction

  • Advanced training and coaching techniques ensure you quickly learn the essential skills at each level

  • All food, accommodation and use of equipment is included, so you can simply focus on enjoying your time with us and the watersports you are following.

Top-class venues

Cowes is the perfect location for our base, providing an unbeatable selection of venues for newcomers and fully-fledged fanatics from every watersports discipline. Within a 10-minute sail of the Academy’s waterfront campus there’s a choice of five sailing locations to suit every ability, from beginner to thrill-seeking pro.

Academy One to One

I am writing to say a big THANK YOU for a fabulous week… We arrived last Monday a random collection of individuals from different schools and family backgrounds and we left on Friday a team of great friends!
