UKSA has always been passionate about teaching this dynamic sport. With our top-quality beginners' kit and inspirational instructors employing latest coaching techniques, you'll be surprised at how quickly your skills develop.

Programme's can range from two to seven days to suit your group's needs. Obviously, the longer the programme, the higher up the certification ladder you can reach. For most groups RYA Start Windsurfing can be achieved in a minimum of two days and further progression can be achieved by adding more time. Five days, for instance, is ideal for inspiring young people.

Progression for experienced windsurfers

If group members have existing windsurfing experience our instructors will work with them to develop their skills through shore-based simulation and coaching, as well as on the water practical sessions.

Student's progress during the programme will be assessed and rewarded with the appropriate nationally recognised certificates.

Day 1 (Half Day) Safety brief and introduction to personal safety equipment
Introduction to the board and board familiarisation games
Rigging the sail and connecting the sail to the board
Controlling power, steering and 180? turns
Day 2 Re-cap of first day's activities
Improving steering and turns
Self rescue techniques
Day 3 Sailing across the wind and returning to the same spot
Introduction to sailing upwind and tacking
Day 4 Introduction to downwind sailing and gybing
Beach starts
Day 5 RYA assessment
Informal racing regatta and games
